University? Scholarships? Language Credit Exam?

Any grade 12 students who are applying to the University of Winnipeg AND wishing to be nominated for major scholarship must speak to Ms. Chase by the end of this week. Deadline for application packages is Friday, January 19.

2. If you are in grade 11 and interested in the possibilty of attending the University of Winnipeg for a week in April please see Ms. Chase.

3. The Red River Valley Teachers' Association scholarship application is now available. If you are gradauting this year AND plan to work with students or youth, you may want to apply for this award. For more information regarding eligibility, please see Ms. Chase. All applications must be post marked no later than Febraury 12, 2018.

4. Do you speak, read and write in another language other than English or French? Is so, you may want to consider taking the Special Language Credit Exam. Deadline to apply is February 12. Please see Ms. Chase for more information.

Beach Volleyball Practices

There will be beach volleyball practices this week at 7:30 AM on Wednesday and Friday. See Ms. Simons if you are unable to make it.

Planning on going to U of W next year?

For students planning to go to the U of W next year there will be a Getting Ready for First Year presentation. The presentation will show students how to use our student registration/degree planning system, and cover topics such as university terminology, selecting courses and picking a major, what/how to prepare over the summer and where to get help.

Volunteer for The Teddy Bears' Picnic

Gain experience and help a great cause – be a part of the Teddy Bears’ Picnic on Sunday, May 27th at Assiniboine Park.  If you are in grade 9 or older, you can help at the Teddy Bears’ Picnic with volunteer jobs such as crafting, face painting, souvenir sales and more!  You can volunteer individually or with a partner.  The sign up sheets are located in Ms.O'Connor's room (rooom #16). 
Deadline is Thursday, May 10th.

Considered Service in the Military?

Have you ever considered service in the Military? Canadian Reserves will be here Monday at lunch with a display table if you would like to gather some information.

Iceland/Scotland 2020

Attention any students currently in grade 9 or 10 interested in traveling to Iceland and Scotland in 2020. The mandatory parent meeting (at least one parent of each interested traveler) will take place on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at 7 pm. (due to Jets Game)

All students who's parents are planning on attending the meeting MUST sign up to confirm their attendance on the sheet in room 10 so that I know how many will attend in order to book the appropriate space.

The purpose of this meeting is to provide information about the trip and answer any questions.
